Educationally Based… Christ Centered.

LakePoint preschool is a Christian based preschool offering classes for 3 to 5 year-olds. Our highly qualified teachers write their own creative curriculum to meet the needs of each new group of students every year.  We work closely with Oxford community schools and what they are looking for their incoming Kindergarten students to have educationally, emotionally and socially.
We are a part of LakePoint Community Church and open to the community.
We run our preschool program from 8:30-12 Monday-Thursdays, September-June and follow the Oxford Community Schools schedule.

Studies show that a strong educational beginning in a child’s life sets them up for success not only in the classroom but in their personal and career life as well. Not only will children get a head start in learning basic math, science, history, and language arts skills but they will also learn to follow direction, self-regulate, deal with peer conflict and develop strong social skills, become independent, be imaginative, encourage others and develop self-confidence. Preschool is more than learning shapes, colors, and reading. It is an opportunity for children to learn about who they are and develop the skills needed to become who they want to be in life. We love being a small part in the wonderful adults these children will grow into and we appreciate the trust you place in us, allowing us to be a part of their life, for just a few hours each day. Our mission is to educate the next generation, not only preparing them for school but also for life. We strongly believe that there is no way to get through the hardships of life without the support of our savior, Jesus Christ. We want to incorporate his truths into our teachings in hopes that our children will be better equipped both inside the classroom and out.

Stevie Murphy is our program director and children’s ministry director.  She studied Early Childhood Education at Liberty University and Biblical Studies at Rochester College.  She has worked in Early Childhood Education since 2007 and also has many year’s experience in children and youth ministry. Growing children academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually is truly a passion and her life calling.   She takes great pride in partnering with parents to grow their children and her door is always open.  Outside of the preschool, Ms. Stevie loves spending time with her husband and 4 children in the outdoors, riding quads, boating, and enjoying all things football!

Megan McIntosh is our 4 year old lead teacher.  She is a wife and mother of two sweet little boys. She says “my heart has always been called to teach.” She earned her Bachelors of Science in Early Childhood Education from Western Michigan University. She also obtained her ZA endorsement, an extra certification allowing her to specialize in Early Childhood. Both her boys attended LakePoint over the last four years and she says she is looking forward to transitioning from parent to teacher! She was a kindergarten teacher for three years before taking a leave of absence to grow her family. She is thrilled to spend time with your little one and take everything she learned over the years both in the classroom and as a parent to help your child grow during these important early years in a loving, supportive and most importantly FUN environment!
